Adedamola Are

Adedamola Are is the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Vice Chairman of Kakanfo Inn and Conference Centre. With a career spanning about three decades in the hospitality industry, he has held executive level positions with Legacy Vacation Club, Hilton Hotels Worldwide and Marriott International and won lots of accolades.
 

My Qualification
After studying Public Administration and badging a B.A from the Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan (U.S.A) in 1987 , I proceeded to obtaining a B.S. degree in Hospitality Administration, from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (U.S.A). I am currently a member of the Institute of Directors.
 
Typical Working life
As the C.E.O. cum Executive Vice Chairman Kakanfo Inn and Conference Centre, every day work life includes: strategic planning, department head planning sessions and reviewing of operations and making recommendations. I also engage in enhancing our guest experience by daily following up on all issues, and forestalling future occurrence of mishaps by proactively proffering solutions to all road blocks and coaching and counselling for errant performers.
 
Skills Required
My choice of career was largely inspired by a role model/ mentoring relationship and has since been sustained by skills like; critical thinking, strategic planning and thought and excellent, candid but constructive communication skills. I have always ensured constant development of my career by continuously aligning myself with the right mentors, getting appropriate certifications and of course, lifelong education.
 
What Are The Challenges Faced?
Critical to a business like this the challenge of unexposed personnel, limited options of finished goods and inadequate number of guests.
